Poem: High life

Updated: May 31, 2021

There was a butterfly

Who got a little high

From drinking Pimms and lots of gin

And forgot to question why

Emerging from a cocoon

She never looked at the moon

Dismissed the idea of wishing on a star

Or exploring the world and venturing far

So used to one leaf they say

She got used to the same day to day

Her curiosity was nil

No imagination until

One day she met a ladybug

Who gave her a big warm hug

And invited her to discover new treasures

Oh how she now smiles at life's little pleasures

This butterfly got lucky its true

Living life like very few do
