I thought the rains would never stop
I thought I’d drown in the puddles
That seeped up, up
Flowing from my feet to my neck
Some mornings the clouds were less
Some mornings I saw a glimmer of sunshine
And yet, always, the rain unexpectedly appeared
I thought the rains would never stop
As I shivered from the cold
Drenched in sorrow
I thought I’d invoke more rains
More dark clouds
I thought the rains would never stop
Yet today, the sun unexpectedly appeared
